The author through this book, seeks to create awareness on suicide among youth, with the aim of giving some pastoral responses on how to prevent suicide, based on the directives of Christus Vivit by Pope Francis, which offer concrete pastoral guidelines on how to form and accompany young people today.
Findings in recent years have shown that there is a high rate of suicide in our world today and most of the victims are youth between the ages of 12 and 35 years. Some young people easily give up on life, and the value of patience and perseverance no longer make sense to them when faced with problems or hardships. The sad thing is that they are the hope and the future of our nation and if nothing is done to curb this situation, suicide may soon be termed as a 'normal act' among them.
