The Gospels tell us all about Saint Joseph and in them, we see the picture of a loving father, a man whom the evangelist Matthew referred to as "righteous" (Mt1:19).
This righteous man, Joseph, occupies a marvellous place in the divine plan of salvation. He is a descendant of David. Although he was the foster father of Jesus, it is interesting to see that it is Joseph who provides the grounds for Jesus to be linked to David and be called "Son of David" (Mt 1:1)
